Fort Myers, FL — Liberty Aluminum Co. announces with deep sadness the passing of Jim Guerin, a founding leader whose early influence helped shape the company from the ground up. In 1993, shortly after Jim Lowndes decided to start Liberty Aluminum, he reached out to Jim Guerin — a trusted colleague from a previous company — and asked him to join the new venture. Jim came aboard in October of that year and the two quickly proved to be an exceptional team.

Together, they built Liberty Aluminum into a trusted name in the aluminum construction industry, grounded in their strong partnership and shared values. Jim was instrumental in shaping Liberty’s culture and its commitment to more than just quality screen enclosures and railings. He fully embraced the company’s mission to build better individuals and families by reflecting high moral and ethical principles.

“Jim and I worked really well together from the very beginning,” said Jim Lowndes, President and Founder of Liberty Aluminum Co. “He was a mentor, a friend, and a man of principle who inspired all of us to strive for excellence not only in our work but in our character. His legacy is woven into the very fabric of our company.”

Though Jim retired in 2023, his impact endures through his sons, JD and Alex Guerin, who continue to serve integral roles at Liberty Aluminum. Their leadership reflects their father’s values and ensures his spirit remains at the heart of the company.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie; his three children, Emily, JD, and Alex; and his ten cherished grandchildren. He is remembered for his technical expertise, steadfast work ethic, and the genuine care he showed to those around him — always accompanied by his quick wit and sense of humor that made every day a little brighter.
